Possum proofing that holds up
Possum proofing means closing every gap a possum could use to get into your roof, wall cavities or sub floor, with materials it cannot chew through or push aside.
Brushtails are strong, persistent and can squeeze through a gap about the size of a tennis ball. They test the whole roofline, so proofing only the hole you know about simply moves the problem along the gutter.
We survey the full roofline from the ground and the roof, list every opening and close each one with galvanised mesh, hardwood, metal flashing or a proper tile and capping repair. Expanding foam and plastic mesh are not proofing: a possum is through them in a night.
Every sealed point is photographed and listed in your report, and the work is covered by our 12 month written guarantee.
- Proofing done after the possum is out
- Materials matched to your roof
- Report with a photo of every point

Possum Proofing Melbourne questions
Talk to us directly. We will tell you honestly what the job needs and roughly what it costs.
Call 0435 072 221What is possum proofing?
Closing every gap a possum can use to get into the roof, walls or sub floor, using materials it cannot chew or push through, such as galvanised mesh, timber and proper tile repairs.
How much does possum proofing cost?
Removal with sealing starts from $449 and full roof proofing from $690, including GST. The price depends on how many openings your roof has and how easy they are to reach.
Can you possum proof while the possum is inside?
Not safely. The possum must be let out first with a one way door, otherwise it is sealed inside. We do the exclusion and proofing as one job.
Does possum proofing work on tiled and metal roofs?
Yes. Tiled roofs usually need capping and tile repairs; metal roofs need gaps closed at the gutters, ridges and wall junctions.
Do possum spikes or lights work?
They can make one spot less attractive, but they do not close a gap. Possums get used to lights and simply step around spikes.
Should I trim trees near the roof?
Yes, where you can. Branches within about a metre of the roof give possums a bridge across. Check with your council before cutting larger trees.
Ready to get the possum out?
Humane removal, every gap sealed and a 12 month written guarantee on sealed points.
